Auction result well in line with expectations
In October 2021 Christies in London held the auction Modern British and Irish Art Day Sale, which included the work Ebbw Vale Steel Works by Laurence Stephen Lowry. It changed hands for a price of GBP 137,500.00 (€ 162,900.36) achieving a result in the upper range of the estimate price range of GBP 100,000.00 – 150,000.00. Of course, this price has nothing to do with the top prices that other works by Laurence Stephen Lowry achieve. The highest price we have observed so far was reached by the work Going to the Match in October last year with an auction result of GBP 7,846,500.00 (€ 9,141,085.62).
Auktionsergebnis im Rahmen der Erwartungen
Im Oktober 2021 führte Christies in London die Auktion Modern British and Irish Art Day Sale durch, in der auch die Arbeit Ebbw Vale Steel Works von Laurence Stephen Lowry zur Versteigerung kam. Dabei wechselte sie für einen Preis von GBP 137.500,00 (€ 162.900,36) den Besitzer und erzielte damit ein Ergebnis im oberen Bereich der Schätzpreisspanne von GBP 100.000,00 – 150.000,00. Dieser Preis hat freilich nichts mit den Spitzenpreisen zu tun, die andere Arbeiten von Laurence Stephen Lowry erzielen. Den höchsten von uns bisher beobachteten Preis erreichte die Arbeit Going to the Match im Oktober letzten Jahres mit einem Auktionsergebnis von GBP 7.846.500,00 (€ 9.141.085,62).
