Auction result misses estimated price range
When the work Run DMC, Philadelphia by Lawrence Watson was auctioned at Phillips in London in November 2009, the result was somewhat disappointing. The auction house had previously given the estimated price as a range of GBP 1,200.00 – 1,800.00, of which not even the lower limit was reached - in fact, the artwork changed hands for GBP 1,125.00 (€ 1,231.17). Other works by Lawrence Watson have also sold for higher prices; the highest price we have seen at auction so far was achieved in November 2009 by the work Public Enemy, New York at GBP 1,500.00 (€ 1,641.56).
Auktionsergebnis verfehlt die Schätzpreisspanne
Als die Arbeit Run DMC, Philadelphia von Lawrence Watson im November 2009 bei Phillips in London versteigert wurde, fiel das Ergebnis ein wenig enttäuschend aus. Das Auktionshaus hatte den Schätzpreis zuvor mit einer Spanne von GBP 1.200,00 – 1.800,00 angegeben, von der nicht einmal die Untergrenze erreicht wurde - tatsächlich wechselte das Kunstwerk für GBP 1.125,00 (€ 1.231,17) den Besitzer. Andere Arbeiten von Lawrence Watson wurden auch schon teurer gehandelt; den höchsten Preis, den wir bisher bei Auktionen beobachten konnten, erzielte im November 2009 die Arbeit Public Enemy, New York mit GBP 1.500,00 (€ 1.641,56).
