In April 2021 Sothebys in Hong Kong held the auction Contemporary Art Day Sale, which included the work From Line by Lee Ufan. The »bidding war« ended at HKD 2,772,000.00 (€ 296,786.03), 54% above the upper estimate. Admittedly, works by Lee Ufan have also been auctioned for a multiple of this price - according to our records, the highest result so far was achieved by the work From Line, No. 760219 in November 2014 with an auction result of USD 2,165,000.00 (€ 1,740,633.54).
Oberer Schätzpreis um 54 % übertroffen
Im April 2021 führte Sothebys in Hong Kong die Auktion Contemporary Art Day Sale durch, in der auch die Arbeit From Line von Lee Ufan zur Versteigerung kam. Das »Bietergefecht« endete beim Preis von HKD 2.772.000,00 (€ 296.786,03) und damit 54% über dem oberen Schätzpreis. Freilich wurden Arbeiten von Lee Ufan auch schon für ein Vielfaches dieses Preises versteigert – das bisher höchste Ergebnis erzielte nach unseren Aufzeichnungen die Arbeit From Line, No. 760219 im November 2014 mit einem Auktionsergebnis von USD 2.165.000,00 (€ 1.740.633,54).
