Auction result well in line with expectations
The work Portrait of Father by Leon Kossoff was auctioned at Christies in October 2021. The price achieved of GBP 325,000.00 (€ 385,037.22) was within expectations - the estimate range had previously been set by the auction house as GBP 250,000.00 – 400,000.00. Admittedly, works by Leon Kossoff have also been auctioned for a multiple of this price - according to our records, the highest result so far was achieved by the work Willesden Junction - Autumn Afternoon in November 2018 with an auction result of GBP 1,388,750.00 (€ 1,566,467.81).

Die Arbeit Portrait of Father von Leon Kossoff kam im Oktober 2021 bei Christies zur Auktion. Der dabei erzielte Preis von GBP 325.000,00 (€ 385.037,22) lag im Rahmen der Erwartungen – die Schätzpreisspanne war von dem Auktionshaus zuvor mit GBP 250.000,00 – 400.000,00 angegeben worden. Freilich wurden Arbeiten von Leon Kossoff auch schon für ein Vielfaches dieses Preises versteigert – das bisher höchste Ergebnis erzielte nach unseren Aufzeichnungen die Arbeit Willesden Junction - Autumn Afternoon im November 2018 mit einem Auktionsergebnis von GBP 1.388.750,00 (€ 1.566.467,81).
