It achieved a price of GBP 146,050.00 (€ 167,705.98), exceeding the upper end of the estimate range by 46%. Admittedly, works by Leon Kossoff have also been auctioned for a multiple of this price - according to our records, the highest result so far was achieved by the work Willesden Junction - Autumn Afternoon in November 2018 with an auction result of GBP 1,388,750.00 (€ 1,566,467.81).

Die Arbeit Father Seated in an Armchair Asleep von Leon Kossoff wurde im Oktober diesen Jahres in der Auktion 20th Century & Contemporary Art Day Sale bei Phillips in London versteigert. Sie erzielte dabei einen Preis von GBP 146.050,00 (€ 167.705,98) und übertraf damit das obere Ende der Schätzpreisspanne um 46%. Freilich wurden Arbeiten von Leon Kossoff auch schon für ein Vielfaches dieses Preises versteigert – das bisher höchste Ergebnis erzielte nach unseren Aufzeichnungen die Arbeit Willesden Junction - Autumn Afternoon im November 2018 mit einem Auktionsergebnis von GBP 1.388.750,00 (€ 1.566.467,81).
