Auction result well in line with expectations
In March 2021 Sothebys in New York held the auction Impressionist & Modern Art | New York, which included the work Sin título by Leonora Carrington. It changed hands for a price of USD 37,800.00 (€ 32,189.39) achieving a result in the upper range of the estimate price range of USD 30,000.00 – 40,000.00. Of course, this price has nothing to do with the top prices that other works by Leonora Carrington achieve. The highest price we have observed so far was reached by the work The Garden of Paracelsus in May last year with an auction result of USD 3,256,500.00 (€ 3,034,665.92).
Auktionsergebnis im Rahmen der Erwartungen
Im März 2021 führte Sothebys in New York die Auktion Impressionist & Modern Art | New York durch, in der auch die Arbeit Sin título von Leonora Carrington zur Versteigerung kam. Dabei wechselte sie für einen Preis von USD 37.800,00 (€ 32.189,39) den Besitzer und erzielte damit ein Ergebnis im oberen Bereich der Schätzpreisspanne von USD 30.000,00 – 40.000,00. Dieser Preis hat freilich nichts mit den Spitzenpreisen zu tun, die andere Arbeiten von Leonora Carrington erzielen. Den höchsten von uns bisher beobachteten Preis erreichte die Arbeit The Garden of Paracelsus im Mai letzten Jahres mit einem Auktionsergebnis von USD 3.256.500,00 (€ 3.034.665,92).
