The work Deux roses au verre de cristal by Louis Valtat was sold in the Impressionist & Modern Art auction at Bonhams in London in October last year. The »bidding war« ended at GBP 12,112.50 (€ 14,110.93), 73% above the upper estimate. Of course, this price has nothing to do with the top prices that other works by Louis Valtat achieve. The highest price we have observed so far was reached by the work Madame Valtat et son fils in May 2008 with an auction result of EUR 726,650.00.

Die Arbeit Deux roses au verre de cristal von Louis Valtat wurde im Oktober letzten Jahres in der Auktion Impressionist & Modern Art bei Bonhams in London versteigert. Das »Bietergefecht« endete beim Preis von GBP 12.112,50 (€ 14.110,93) und damit 73% über dem oberen Schätzpreis. Dieser Preis hat freilich nichts mit den Spitzenpreisen zu tun, die andere Arbeiten von Louis Valtat erzielen. Den höchsten von uns bisher beobachteten Preis erreichte die Arbeit Madame Valtat et son fils im Mai 2008 mit einem Auktionsergebnis von EUR 726.650,00.
