Auction result well in line with expectations
The work Caféhaus by Ludwig Meidner was auctioned at Sothebys in London in October 2020. The estimated price for the artwork was previously given by the auction house with a range of GBP 40,000.00 – 60,000.00, the actual price achieved of GBP 44,100.00 (€ 48,969.29) could thus just exceed the lower estimate. Of course, this price has nothing to do with the top prices that other works by Ludwig Meidner achieve. The highest price we have observed so far was reached by the work Apokalyptische Landschaft (Apocalyptic Landscape) Junger Mann Mit Strohhut (Young Man With Straw Hat) - Reverse in November 2018 with an auction result of USD 14,072,800.00 (€ 12,428,508.35).
Auktionsergebnis im Rahmen der Erwartungen
Die Arbeit Caféhaus von Ludwig Meidner kam im Oktober 2020 bei Sothebys in London zur Auktion. Der Schätzpreis für das Kunstwerk wurde von dem Auktionshaus zuvor mit einer Spanne von GBP 40.000,00 – 60.000,00 angegeben, der tatsächlich erzielte Preis von GBP 44.100,00 (€ 48.969,29) konnte den unteren Schätzpreis somit knapp übertreffen. Dieser Preis hat freilich nichts mit den Spitzenpreisen zu tun, die andere Arbeiten von Ludwig Meidner erzielen. Den höchsten von uns bisher beobachteten Preis erreichte die Arbeit Apokalyptische Landschaft (Apocalyptic Landscape) Junger Mann Mit Strohhut (Young Man With Straw Hat) - Reverse im November 2018 mit einem Auktionsergebnis von USD 14.072.800,00 (€ 12.428.508,35).
