This artwork by Marie Vassilieff achieved an unexpectedly high price at Sothebys in New York in October 2008. In the Impressionist and Modern Art including Latin American and Russian Art auction, the work Madonna With Roses sold for USD 23,750.00 (€ 18,727.33) - well above the upper estimate of USD 12,000.00. Of course, this price has nothing to do with the top prices that other works by Marie Vassilieff achieve. The highest price we have observed so far was reached by the work Nu in April 2021 with an auction result of EUR 680,000.00.
