Auction result well in line with expectations
In May last year Sothebys in New York held the auction The Macklowe Collection, which included the work Untitled (Side Swiped and Carved Face 41.32) by Mark Grotjahn. It changed hands for a price of USD 7,500,000.00 (€ 6,989,097.01) achieving a result in the upper range of the estimate price range of USD 6,000,000.00 – 8,000,000.00. However, buyers have had to dig much deeper into their pockets for other works by Mark Grotjahn - we have observed the highest auction result to date for the work Untitled (S III Released to France Face 43.14), which sold at auction in May 2017 for USD 16,767,500.00 (€ 14,923,015.31).
Auktionsergebnis im Rahmen der Erwartungen
Im Mai letzten Jahres führte Sothebys in New York die Auktion The Macklowe Collection durch, in der auch die Arbeit Untitled (Side Swiped and Carved Face 41.32) von Mark Grotjahn zur Versteigerung kam. Dabei wechselte sie für einen Preis von USD 7.500.000,00 (€ 6.989.097,01) den Besitzer und erzielte damit ein Ergebnis im oberen Bereich der Schätzpreisspanne von USD 6.000.000,00 – 8.000.000,00. Für andere Arbeiten von Mark Grotjahn mussten die Käufer allerdings auch schon deutlich tiefer in die Tasche greifen – das bisher höchste Auktionsergebnis haben wir für die Arbeit Untitled (S III Released to France Face 43.14) beobachtet, die im Mai 2017 für USD 16.767.500,00 (€ 14.923.015,31) versteigert wurde.
