Auction result well in line with expectations
In June 2021 Sothebys in Hong Kong held the auction Contemporary Curated: Asia | JAY CHOU x SOTHEBY’S | Day Sale, which included the work Bird of Paradise by Mary Weatherford. The price achieved of HKD 2,520,000.00 (€ 273,737.34) was within expectations - the estimate range had previously been set by the auction house as HKD 2,000,000.00 – 3,000,000.00. Other works by Mary Weatherford have already achieved higher auction prices, for example, in September last year the work Coney Island was auctioned for USD 478,800.00 (€ 489,420.42).

Im Juni 2021 führte Sothebys in Hong Kong die Auktion Contemporary Curated: Asia | JAY CHOU x SOTHEBY’S | Day Sale durch, in der auch die Arbeit Bird of Paradise von Mary Weatherford zur Versteigerung kam. Der dabei erzielte Preis von HKD 2.520.000,00 (€ 273.737,34) lag im Rahmen der Erwartungen – die Schätzpreisspanne war von dem Auktionshaus zuvor mit HKD 2.000.000,00 – 3.000.000,00 angegeben worden. Andere Arbeiten von Mary Weatherford konnten bereits höhere Auktionspreise erzielen, so wurde im September letzten Jahres die Arbeit Coney Island für USD 478.800,00 (€ 489.420,42) versteigert.
