In March this year Bonhams held the auction La Révolution Surréaliste, which included the work Portrait d'André Breton by Max Ernst. The »bidding war« ended at EUR 819,375.00 37% above the upper estimate. Of course, this price has nothing to do with the top prices that other works by Max Ernst achieve. The highest price we have observed so far was reached by the work Le roi jouant avec la reine in November last year with an auction result of USD 24,435,000.00 (€ 23,670,444.64).
Oberer Schätzpreis um 37 % übertroffen
Im März diesen Jahres führte Bonhams die Auktion La Révolution Surréaliste durch, in der auch die Arbeit Portrait d'André Breton von Max Ernst zur Versteigerung kam. Das »Bietergefecht« endete beim Preis von EUR 819.375,00 und damit 37% über dem oberen Schätzpreis. Dieser Preis hat freilich nichts mit den Spitzenpreisen zu tun, die andere Arbeiten von Max Ernst erzielen. Den höchsten von uns bisher beobachteten Preis erreichte die Arbeit Le roi jouant avec la reine im November letzten Jahres mit einem Auktionsergebnis von USD 24.435.000,00 (€ 23.670.444,64).
