This artwork by Max Ernst achieved an unexpectedly high price at Bonhams in March this year. In the La Révolution Surréaliste auction, the work Roi Reine Fou sold for EUR 35,655.00 - well above the upper estimate of EUR 18,000.00. Of course, this price has nothing to do with the top prices that other works by Max Ernst achieve. The highest price we have observed so far was reached by the work Le roi jouant avec la reine in November last year with an auction result of USD 24,435,000.00 (€ 23,670,444.64).
Oberer Schätzpreis um 98 % übertroffen
Dieses Kunstwerk von Max Ernst erzielte im März diesen Jahres bei Bonhams einen unerwartet hohen Preis. In der Auktion La Révolution Surréaliste wurde die Arbeit Roi Reine Fou für EUR 35.655,00 versteigert – und damit weit über dem oberen Schätzpreis von EUR 18.000,00. Dieser Preis hat freilich nichts mit den Spitzenpreisen zu tun, die andere Arbeiten von Max Ernst erzielen. Den höchsten von uns bisher beobachteten Preis erreichte die Arbeit Le roi jouant avec la reine im November letzten Jahres mit einem Auktionsergebnis von USD 24.435.000,00 (€ 23.670.444,64).
