In June 2017 Christies in Amsterdam held the auction 19th Century & Modern Art, which included the work Grosse Wäsche bei Omdurman: women washing along the river Nile, Sudan by Max Rabes. Here, the upper estimate of EUR 12,000.00 was slightly exceeded - the artwork found a new owner for EUR 12,500.00. Admittedly, works by Max Rabes have also been auctioned for a multiple of this price - according to our records, the highest result so far was achieved by the work Storytime in October 2005 with an auction result of USD 66,000.00 (€ 55,022.93).
Oberer Schätzpreis leicht übertroffen
Im Juni 2017 führte Christies in Amsterdam die Auktion 19th Century & Modern Art durch, in der auch die Arbeit Grosse Wäsche bei Omdurman: women washing along the river Nile, Sudan von Max Rabes zur Versteigerung kam. Dabei wurde der obere Schätzpreis von EUR 12.000,00 leicht übertroffen – das Kunstwerk fand für EUR 12.500,00 einen neuen Besitzer. Freilich wurden Arbeiten von Max Rabes auch schon für ein Vielfaches dieses Preises versteigert – das bisher höchste Ergebnis erzielte nach unseren Aufzeichnungen die Arbeit Storytime im Oktober 2005 mit einem Auktionsergebnis von USD 66.000,00 (€ 55.022,93).
