Auction result well in line with expectations
In May last year Christies in Paris held the auction Fashion Photographs from the Susanne von Meiss collection, which included the work Marlene Dietrich's legs, Heads down, 1952 by Milton Greene. The price achieved of EUR 5,040.00 was within expectations - the estimate range had previously been set by the auction house as EUR 4,000.00 – 6,000.00. However, buyers have had to dig much deeper into their pockets for other works by Milton Greene - we have observed the highest auction result to date for the work Nelly Nyad (1952), which sold at auction in October 2000 for USD 15,275.00 (€ 18,000.24).
Auktionsergebnis im Rahmen der Erwartungen
Im Mai letzten Jahres führte Christies in Paris die Auktion Fashion Photographs from the Susanne von Meiss collection durch, in der auch die Arbeit Marlene Dietrich's legs, Heads down, 1952 von Milton Greene zur Versteigerung kam. Der dabei erzielte Preis von EUR 5.040,00 lag im Rahmen der Erwartungen – die Schätzpreisspanne war von dem Auktionshaus zuvor mit EUR 4.000,00 – 6.000,00 angegeben worden. Für andere Arbeiten von Milton Greene mussten die Käufer allerdings auch schon deutlich tiefer in die Tasche greifen – das bisher höchste Auktionsergebnis haben wir für die Arbeit Nelly Nyad (1952) beobachtet, die im Oktober 2000 für USD 15.275,00 (€ 18.000,24) versteigert wurde.
