This artwork by Mitsuru Watanabe achieved an unexpectedly high price at Christies in Hong Kong in July last year. In the 20th/21st Century Art Online auction, the work Naoko Playing in Bosch’s Last Judgement sold for HKD 352,800.00 (€ 44,022.19) - well above the upper estimate of HKD 120,000.00. Despite this good result, it is not the highest hammer price for an artwork by Mitsuru Watanabe; that achieved among the auctions we observed the lot Naoko Bathing in the Woods of Rousseau sold at auction in May 2016 with the realized price of HKD 687,500.00 (€ 79,462.28).
Oberer Schätzpreis um mehr als 100% übertroffen
Dieses Kunstwerk von Mitsuru Watanabe erzielte im Juli letzten Jahres bei Christies in Hong Kong einen unerwartet hohen Preis. In der Auktion 20th/21st Century Art Online wurde die Arbeit Naoko Playing in Bosch’s Last Judgement für HKD 352.800,00 (€ 44.022,19) versteigert – und damit weit über dem oberen Schätzpreis von HKD 120.000,00. Trotz des guten Ergebnisses ist dies nicht der höchste Zuschlag für ein Kunstwerk von Mitsuru Watanabe; den erzielte unter den von uns beobachteten Auktionen die Arbeit Naoko Bathing in the Woods of Rousseau im Mai 2016 mit dem Hammerpreis von HKD 687.500,00 (€ 79.462,28).
