The »bidding war« ended at GBP 456.00 (€ 653.37), 52% above the upper estimate. Despite this good result, it is not the highest hammer price for an artwork by Moses Griffith; that achieved among the auctions we observed the lot View of Malvern Hills From Bevere sold at auction in November 2005 with the realized price of GBP 840.00 (€ 1,234.07).
