The work Retour au village by Nguyen Phan Chanh was worth HKD 2,036,000.00 (€ 244,037.17) to a buyer in May this year. This price was achieved in the auction Modern & Contemporary Art and Southeast Asian Art at Bonhams in New York and exceeded the previously set upper estimate of HKD 360,000.00 many times over. Admittedly, works by Nguyen Phan Chanh have also been auctioned for a multiple of this price - according to our records, the highest result so far was achieved by the work Les Couturières (Seamstresses at Work) in December 2020 with an auction result of HKD 10,930,000.00 (€ 1,152,878.17).

Die Arbeit Retour au village von Nguyen Phan Chanh war einem Käufer im Mai diesen Jahres HKD 2.036.000,00 (€ 244.037,17) wert. Dieser Preise wurde in der Auktion Modern & Contemporary Art and Southeast Asian Art bei Bonhams in New York erzielt und übertraf den zuvor angesetzten oberen Schätzpreis von HKD 360.000,00 um ein Vielfaches. Freilich wurden Arbeiten von Nguyen Phan Chanh auch schon für ein Vielfaches dieses Preises versteigert – das bisher höchste Ergebnis erzielte nach unseren Aufzeichnungen die Arbeit Les Couturières (Seamstresses at Work) im Dezember 2020 mit einem Auktionsergebnis von HKD 10.930.000,00 (€ 1.152.878,17).
