Auction result well in line with expectations
The work Composition by Nicolas de Staël was auctioned at Sothebys in London in October 2021. The estimated price for the artwork was previously given by the auction house with a range of GBP 1,000,000.00 – 1,500,000.00, the actual price achieved of GBP 1,007,200.00 (€ 1,193,259.97) could thus just exceed the lower estimate. Of course, this price has nothing to do with the top prices that other works by Nicolas de Staël achieve. The highest price we have observed so far was reached by the work Parc des Princes (Les grands footballeurs) in October 2019 with an auction result of EUR 20,000,000.00.
Auktionsergebnis im Rahmen der Erwartungen
Die Arbeit Composition von Nicolas de Staël kam im Oktober 2021 bei Sothebys in London zur Auktion. Der Schätzpreis für das Kunstwerk wurde von dem Auktionshaus zuvor mit einer Spanne von GBP 1.000.000,00 – 1.500.000,00 angegeben, der tatsächlich erzielte Preis von GBP 1.007.200,00 (€ 1.193.259,97) konnte den unteren Schätzpreis somit knapp übertreffen. Dieser Preis hat freilich nichts mit den Spitzenpreisen zu tun, die andere Arbeiten von Nicolas de Staël erzielen. Den höchsten von uns bisher beobachteten Preis erreichte die Arbeit Parc des Princes (Les grands footballeurs) im Oktober 2019 mit einem Auktionsergebnis von EUR 20.000.000,00.
