Auction result well in line with expectations
The work Personnages au bord de la mer by Nicolas de Staël was auctioned at Phillips in New York in November this year. The price achieved of USD 2,359,000.00 (€ 2,162,632.93) was within expectations - the estimate range had previously been set by the auction house as USD 2,000,000.00 – 3,000,000.00. Admittedly, works by Nicolas de Staël have also been auctioned for a multiple of this price - according to our records, the highest result so far was achieved by the work Parc des Princes (Les grands footballeurs) in October 2019 with an auction result of EUR 20,000,000.00.
Auktionsergebnis im Rahmen der Erwartungen
Die Arbeit Personnages au bord de la mer von Nicolas de Staël kam im November diesen Jahres bei Phillips in New York zur Auktion. Der dabei erzielte Preis von USD 2.359.000,00 (€ 2.162.632,93) lag im Rahmen der Erwartungen – die Schätzpreisspanne war von dem Auktionshaus zuvor mit USD 2.000.000,00 – 3.000.000,00 angegeben worden. Freilich wurden Arbeiten von Nicolas de Staël auch schon für ein Vielfaches dieses Preises versteigert – das bisher höchste Ergebnis erzielte nach unseren Aufzeichnungen die Arbeit Parc des Princes (Les grands footballeurs) im Oktober 2019 mit einem Auktionsergebnis von EUR 20.000.000,00.
