Auction result well in line with expectations
In March this year Phillips in Hong Kong held the auction 20th Century & Contemporary Art Day Sale, which included the work Fivefold dodecahedron lamp by Olafur Eliasson. The price achieved of HKD 533,400.00 (€ 62,455.68) was within expectations - the estimate range had previously been set by the auction house as HKD 400,000.00 – 600,000.00. Of course, this price has nothing to do with the top prices that other works by Olafur Eliasson achieve. The highest price we have observed so far was reached by the work Fivefold Eye in October 2007 with an auction result of GBP 748,500.00 (€ 1,074,895.25).
Auktionsergebnis im Rahmen der Erwartungen
Im März diesen Jahres führte Phillips in Hong Kong die Auktion 20th Century & Contemporary Art Day Sale durch, in der auch die Arbeit Fivefold dodecahedron lamp von Olafur Eliasson zur Versteigerung kam. Der dabei erzielte Preis von HKD 533.400,00 (€ 62.455,68) lag im Rahmen der Erwartungen – die Schätzpreisspanne war von dem Auktionshaus zuvor mit HKD 400.000,00 – 600.000,00 angegeben worden. Dieser Preis hat freilich nichts mit den Spitzenpreisen zu tun, die andere Arbeiten von Olafur Eliasson erzielen. Den höchsten von uns bisher beobachteten Preis erreichte die Arbeit Fivefold Eye im Oktober 2007 mit einem Auktionsergebnis von GBP 748.500,00 (€ 1.074.895,25).
