Auction result well in line with expectations
In March this year Christies in New York held the auction Japanese and Korean Art, which included the work Three Seated Women, 1962 by Park Sookeun. The estimated price for the artwork was previously given by the auction house with a range of USD 400,000.00 – 600,000.00, the actual price achieved of USD 441,000.00 (€ 405,629.14) could thus just exceed the lower estimate. However, buyers have had to dig much deeper into their pockets for other works by Park Sookeun - we have observed the highest auction result to date for the work Tree and three figures, 1962, which sold at auction in September 2012 for USD 1,986,500.00 (€ 1,545,192.91).
Auktionsergebnis im Rahmen der Erwartungen
Im März diesen Jahres führte Christies in New York die Auktion Japanese and Korean Art durch, in der auch die Arbeit Three Seated Women, 1962 von Park Sookeun zur Versteigerung kam. Der Schätzpreis für das Kunstwerk wurde von dem Auktionshaus zuvor mit einer Spanne von USD 400.000,00 – 600.000,00 angegeben, der tatsächlich erzielte Preis von USD 441.000,00 (€ 405.629,14) konnte den unteren Schätzpreis somit knapp übertreffen. Für andere Arbeiten von Park Sookeun mussten die Käufer allerdings auch schon deutlich tiefer in die Tasche greifen – das bisher höchste Auktionsergebnis haben wir für die Arbeit Tree and three figures, 1962 beobachtet, die im September 2012 für USD 1.986.500,00 (€ 1.545.192,91) versteigert wurde.
