This artwork by Patrick Heron achieved an unexpectedly high price at Christies in London in June 2008. In the 20th Century British Art auction, the work Camellia Garden: March 1956 sold for GBP 668,450.00 (€ 844,943.21) - well above the upper estimate of GBP 300,000.00. Despite this good result, it is not the highest hammer price for an artwork by Patrick Heron; that achieved among the auctions we observed the lot The Blue Table With Window: 1954 sold at auction in June 2011 with the realized price of GBP 1,049,250.00 (€ 1,160,800.09).
