Upper estimated price slightly exceeded
The work Thérèse by Paul Gauguin was auctioned at Christies in New York in November 2015. It achieved a price of USD 30,965,000.00 (€ 29,317,364.14), exceeding the upper end of the estimate range by 24%. However, buyers have had to dig much deeper into their pockets for other works by Paul Gauguin - we have observed the highest auction result to date for the work Maternité II, which sold at auction in November last year for USD 105,730,000.00 (€ 102,421,776.62).
Oberer Schätzpreis leicht übertroffen
Die Arbeit Thérèse von Paul Gauguin kam im November 2015 bei Christies in New York zur Auktion. Sie erzielte dabei einen Preis von USD 30.965.000,00 (€ 29.317.364,14) und übertraf damit das obere Ende der Schätzpreisspanne um 24%. Für andere Arbeiten von Paul Gauguin mussten die Käufer allerdings auch schon deutlich tiefer in die Tasche greifen – das bisher höchste Auktionsergebnis haben wir für die Arbeit Maternité II beobachtet, die im November letzten Jahres für USD 105.730.000,00 (€ 102.421.776,62) versteigert wurde.
