When the work Wall Street, New York, 1915 by Paul Strand was auctioned at Christies in New York in April 2010, the result exceeded expectations many times over. The upper estimate was set at a - in retrospect quite modest - USD 1,500.00 but the actual price achieved was more than three times as high at USD 5,625.00 (€ 4,228.69). Of course, this price has nothing to do with the top prices that other works by Paul Strand achieve. The highest price we have observed so far was reached by the work Akeley Motion Picture Camera, New York, 1922 in April 2013 with an auction result of USD 783,750.00 (€ 595,192.89).

Als die Arbeit Wall Street, New York, 1915 von Paul Strand im April 2010 bei Christies in New York versteigert wurde, übertraf das Ergebnis die Erwartungen um ein Vielfaches. Der obere Schätzpreis war mit – rückwirkend betrachtet recht bescheidenen – USD 1.500,00 angesetzt, der tatsächlich erzielte Preis hingegen war mit USD 5.625,00 (€ 4.228,69) mehr als dreimal so hoch. Dieser Preis hat freilich nichts mit den Spitzenpreisen zu tun, die andere Arbeiten von Paul Strand erzielen.
