Auction result well in line with expectations
The work Good Dog by Paula Rego was sold in the Contemporary Art Evening Auction auction at Sothebys in London in October 2021. It changed hands for a price of GBP 1,188,700.00 (€ 1,408,288.45) achieving a result in the upper range of the estimate price range of GBP 800,000.00 – 1,200,000.00. However, buyers have had to dig much deeper into their pockets for other works by Paula Rego - we have observed the highest auction result to date for the work Dancing Ostriches from Walt Disney's 'Fantasia', which sold at auction in October this year for GBP 3,065,000.00 (€ 3,519,471.52).
Auktionsergebnis im Rahmen der Erwartungen
Die Arbeit Good Dog von Paula Rego wurde im Oktober 2021 in der Auktion Contemporary Art Evening Auction bei Sothebys in London versteigert. Dabei wechselte sie für einen Preis von GBP 1.188.700,00 (€ 1.408.288,45) den Besitzer und erzielte damit ein Ergebnis im oberen Bereich der Schätzpreisspanne von GBP 800.000,00 – 1.200.000,00. Für andere Arbeiten von Paula Rego mussten die Käufer allerdings auch schon deutlich tiefer in die Tasche greifen – das bisher höchste Auktionsergebnis haben wir für die Arbeit Dancing Ostriches from Walt Disney's 'Fantasia' beobachtet, die im Oktober diesen Jahres für GBP 3.065.000,00 (€ 3.519.471,52) versteigert wurde.
