In the Photographs auction, the work Outside Pentonville Gaol After A Hanging, 1958 sold for GBP 1,750.00 (€ 2,068.49) - well above the upper estimate of GBP 800.00. However, buyers have had to dig much deeper into their pockets for other works by Philip Jones Griffiths - we have observed the highest auction result to date for the work Scenes Of British Life, 1960S, which sold at auction in October 2013 for GBP 6,875.00 (€ 8,126.20).
