Auction result misses estimated price range
In December 2016 a collector was able to acquire the work Portrait depicting Madame de Montespan dressed as the hunting goddess Diana by Pierre Mignard for SEK 125,000.00 (€ 13,042.55). This price was achieved in the auction December + Asian sale at Bukowski in Stockholm and was even below the estimate range of SEK 150,000.00 – 175,000.00 set by the auction house. Admittedly, works by Pierre Mignard have also been auctioned for a multiple of this price - according to our records, the highest result so far was achieved by the work Portrait of a cleric, said to be Jean-François-Paul de Gondi, future Cardinal de Retz (1613-1679), seated three-quarter-length, a book in his hand, at a table in December 2005 with an auction result of GBP 78,000.00 (€ 113,212.63).
Auktionsergebnis verfehlt die Schätzpreisspanne
Im Dezember 2016 konnte ein Sammler die Arbeit Portrait depicting Madame de Montespan dressed as the hunting goddess Diana von Pierre Mignard für SEK 125.000,00 (€ 13.042,55) erwerben. Dieser Preis wurde in der Auktion December + Asian sale bei Bukowski in Stockholm erzielt und lag noch unterhalb der von dem Auktionshaus angesetzten Schätzpreisspanne von SEK 150.000,00 – 175.000,00. Freilich wurden Arbeiten von Pierre Mignard auch schon für ein Vielfaches dieses Preises versteigert – das bisher höchste Ergebnis erzielte nach unseren Aufzeichnungen die Arbeit Portrait of a cleric, said to be Jean-François-Paul de Gondi, future Cardinal de Retz (1613-1679), seated three-quarter-length, a book in his hand, at a table im Dezember 2005 mit einem Auktionsergebnis von GBP 78.000,00 (€ 113.212,63).
