This artwork by Pierre Soulages achieved an unexpectedly high price at Christies in Paris in June 2017. In the Art Contemporain Vente du soir auction, the work Peinture 60 x 81 cm, 3 novembre 1955 sold for EUR 1,322,500.00 - well above the upper estimate of EUR 700,000.00. Of course, this price has nothing to do with the top prices that other works by Pierre Soulages achieve. The highest price we have observed so far was reached by the work Peinture 195 x 130 cm, 4 août 1961 in November 2021 with an auction result of USD 20,141,700.00 (€ 17,845,042.97).
Oberer Schätzpreis um 89 % übertroffen
Dieses Kunstwerk von Pierre Soulages erzielte im Juni 2017 bei Christies in Paris einen unerwartet hohen Preis. In der Auktion Art Contemporain Vente du soir wurde die Arbeit Peinture 60 x 81 cm, 3 novembre 1955 für EUR 1.322.500,00 versteigert – und damit weit über dem oberen Schätzpreis von EUR 700.000,00. Dieser Preis hat freilich nichts mit den Spitzenpreisen zu tun, die andere Arbeiten von Pierre Soulages erzielen. Den höchsten von uns bisher beobachteten Preis erreichte die Arbeit Peinture 195 x 130 cm, 4 août 1961 im November 2021 mit einem Auktionsergebnis von USD 20.141.700,00 (€ 17.845.042,97).
