Upper estimate price exceeded by more than 100%
This artwork by Rafa Macarrón achieved an unexpectedly high price at Phillips in London in June last year. In the 20th Century & Contemporary Art Evening Sale auction, the work Machaquito sold for GBP 327,600.00 (€ 380,578.01) - well above the upper estimate of GBP 150,000.00. Despite this good result, it is not the highest hammer price for an artwork by Rafa Macarrón; that achieved among the auctions we observed the lot Matilda sold at auction in April last year with the realized price of HKD 4,032,000.00 (€ 487,498.15).
Oberer Schätzpreis um mehr als 100% übertroffen
Dieses Kunstwerk von Rafa Macarrón erzielte im Juni letzten Jahres bei Phillips in London einen unerwartet hohen Preis. In der Auktion 20th Century & Contemporary Art Evening Sale wurde die Arbeit Machaquito für GBP 327.600,00 (€ 380.578,01) versteigert – und damit weit über dem oberen Schätzpreis von GBP 150.000,00. Trotz des guten Ergebnisses ist dies nicht der höchste Zuschlag für ein Kunstwerk von Rafa Macarrón; den erzielte unter den von uns beobachteten Auktionen die Arbeit Matilda im April letzten Jahres mit dem Hammerpreis von HKD 4.032.000,00 (€ 487.498,15).
