Auction result well in line with expectations
The work Untitled Escape Collage by Rashid Johnson was auctioned at Christies in New York in May this year. It changed hands for a price of USD 819,000.00 (€ 768,725.36) achieving a result in the upper range of the estimate price range of USD 650,000.00 – 850,000.00. However, buyers have had to dig much deeper into their pockets for other works by Rashid Johnson - we have observed the highest auction result to date for the work Surrender Painting "Sunshine", which sold at auction in November last year for USD 3,000,000.00 (€ 2,906,131.94).
Auktionsergebnis im Rahmen der Erwartungen
Die Arbeit Untitled Escape Collage von Rashid Johnson kam im Mai diesen Jahres bei Christies in New York zur Auktion. Dabei wechselte sie für einen Preis von USD 819.000,00 (€ 768.725,36) den Besitzer und erzielte damit ein Ergebnis im oberen Bereich der Schätzpreisspanne von USD 650.000,00 – 850.000,00. Für andere Arbeiten von Rashid Johnson mussten die Käufer allerdings auch schon deutlich tiefer in die Tasche greifen – das bisher höchste Auktionsergebnis haben wir für die Arbeit Surrender Painting "Sunshine" beobachtet, die im November letzten Jahres für USD 3.000.000,00 (€ 2.906.131,94) versteigert wurde.
