Auction result well in line with expectations
In November this year Bonhams in New York held the auction Surrealism Beyond Reality, which included the work L'Oeil, from Le Lien de Paille by René Magritte. It changed hands for a price of USD 9,600.00 (€ 8,800.88) achieving a result in the upper range of the estimate price range of USD 8,000.00 – 10,000.00. Of course, this price has nothing to do with the top prices that other works by René Magritte achieve. The highest price we have observed so far was reached by the work L’empire des lumières in March last year with an auction result of GBP 59,422,000.00 (€ 70,451,468.85).
Auktionsergebnis im Rahmen der Erwartungen
Im November diesen Jahres führte Bonhams in New York die Auktion Surrealism Beyond Reality durch, in der auch die Arbeit L'Oeil, from Le Lien de Paille von René Magritte zur Versteigerung kam. Dabei wechselte sie für einen Preis von USD 9.600,00 (€ 8.800,88) den Besitzer und erzielte damit ein Ergebnis im oberen Bereich der Schätzpreisspanne von USD 8.000,00 – 10.000,00. Dieser Preis hat freilich nichts mit den Spitzenpreisen zu tun, die andere Arbeiten von René Magritte erzielen. Den höchsten von uns bisher beobachteten Preis erreichte die Arbeit L’empire des lumières im März letzten Jahres mit einem Auktionsergebnis von GBP 59.422.000,00 (€ 70.451.468,85).
