Auction result misses estimated price range
In October 2020 a collector was able to acquire the work Rudolf Nureyev, New York, May 29, 1967 by Richard Avedon for USD 11,250.00 (€ 9,659.14). This price was achieved in the auction The Unseen Eye: Photographs from the W.M. Hunt Collection at Christies in New York and was even below the estimate range of USD 15,000.00 – 25,000.00 set by the auction house. Of course, this price has nothing to do with the top prices that other works by Richard Avedon achieve. The highest price we have observed so far was reached by the work The Beatles Portfolio: John Lennon, Ringo Starr, George Harrison and Paul McCartney, London in November last year with an auction result of GBP 809,000.00 (€ 937,446.28).
Auktionsergebnis verfehlt die Schätzpreisspanne
Im Oktober 2020 konnte ein Sammler die Arbeit Rudolf Nureyev, New York, May 29, 1967 von Richard Avedon für USD 11.250,00 (€ 9.659,14) erwerben. Dieser Preis wurde in der Auktion The Unseen Eye: Photographs from the W.M. Hunt Collection bei Christies in New York erzielt und lag noch unterhalb der von dem Auktionshaus angesetzten Schätzpreisspanne von USD 15.000,00 – 25.000,00. Dieser Preis hat freilich nichts mit den Spitzenpreisen zu tun, die andere Arbeiten von Richard Avedon erzielen. Den höchsten von uns bisher beobachteten Preis erreichte die Arbeit The Beatles Portfolio: John Lennon, Ringo Starr, George Harrison and Paul McCartney, London im November letzten Jahres mit einem Auktionsergebnis von GBP 809.000,00 (€ 937.446,28).
