Auction result misses estimated price range

This work of art by Richard Prince could be acquired at Christies in Hong Kong in November this year for an unexpectedly low price. In the 20th/21st Century Art Evening Sale auction, the work Camp Nurse changed hands for HKD 20,945,000.00 (€ 2,457,792.45) - missing the lower end of the estimate range of HKD 22,000,000.00 – 28,000,000.00. Admittedly, works by Richard Prince have also been auctioned for a multiple of this price - according to our records, the highest result so far was achieved by the work Runaway Nurse in June 2021 with an auction result of HKD 93,986,000.00 (€ 10,209,316.51).

Auktionsergebnis verfehlt die Schätzpreisspanne

Dieses Kunstwerk von Richard Prince konnte im November diesen Jahres bei Christies in Hong Kong für einen unerwartet niedrigen Preis ersteigert werden. In der Auktion 20th/21st Century Art Evening Sale wechselte die Arbeit Camp Nurse für HKD 20.945.000,00 (€ 2.457.792,45) den Besitzer – und verfehlte damit das untere Ende der Schätzpreisspanne von HKD 22.000.000,00 – 28.000.000,00. Freilich wurden Arbeiten von Richard Prince auch schon für ein Vielfaches dieses Preises versteigert – das bisher höchste Ergebnis erzielte nach unseren Aufzeichnungen die Arbeit Runaway Nurse im Juni 2021 mit einem Auktionsergebnis von HKD 93.986.000,00 (€ 10.209.316,51).
