Auction result misses estimated price range
This work of art by Richard Prince could be acquired at Bonhams in July this year for an unexpectedly low price. In the Post-War & Contemporary Art Online auction, the work Joke, Girlfriend, Cowboy changed hands for USD 5,760.00 (€ 5,226.86) - missing the lower end of the estimate range of USD 8,000.00 – 12,000.00. Of course, this price has nothing to do with the top prices that other works by Richard Prince achieve. The highest price we have observed so far was reached by the work Runaway Nurse in June 2021 with an auction result of HKD 93,986,000.00 (€ 10,209,316.51).
Auktionsergebnis verfehlt die Schätzpreisspanne
Dieses Kunstwerk von Richard Prince konnte im Juli diesen Jahres bei Bonhams für einen unerwartet niedrigen Preis ersteigert werden. In der Auktion Post-War & Contemporary Art Online wechselte die Arbeit Joke, Girlfriend, Cowboy für USD 5.760,00 (€ 5.226,86) den Besitzer – und verfehlte damit das untere Ende der Schätzpreisspanne von USD 8.000,00 – 12.000,00. Dieser Preis hat freilich nichts mit den Spitzenpreisen zu tun, die andere Arbeiten von Richard Prince erzielen. Den höchsten von uns bisher beobachteten Preis erreichte die Arbeit Runaway Nurse im Juni 2021 mit einem Auktionsergebnis von HKD 93.986.000,00 (€ 10.209.316,51).
