The work Black and White II by Riyas Komu was auctioned at Christies in New York in September 2008. It achieved a price of USD 62,500.00 (€ 44,386.05), exceeding the upper end of the estimate range by 56%. However, buyers have had to dig much deeper into their pockets for other works by Riyas Komu - we have observed the highest auction result to date for the work Designated March of a Petro - Angel (or Desert March), which sold at auction in September 2008 for USD 146,500.00 (€ 104,040.91).

Die Arbeit Black and White II von Riyas Komu kam im September 2008 bei Christies in New York zur Auktion. Sie erzielte dabei einen Preis von USD 62.500,00 (€ 44.386,05) und übertraf damit das obere Ende der Schätzpreisspanne um 56%. Für andere Arbeiten von Riyas Komu mussten die Käufer allerdings auch schon deutlich tiefer in die Tasche greifen – das bisher höchste Auktionsergebnis haben wir für die Arbeit Designated March of a Petro - Angel (or Desert March) beobachtet, die im September 2008 für USD 146.500,00 (€ 104.040,91) versteigert wurde.
