Auction result well in line with expectations
This work without title by Riyas Komu was sold in the South Asian Modern + Contemporary Art auction at Christies in New York in September 2008. It changed hands for a price of USD 37,500.00 (€ 26,631.63) achieving a result in the upper range of the estimate price range of USD 30,000.00 – 40,000.00. However, buyers have had to dig much deeper into their pockets for other works by Riyas Komu - we have observed the highest auction result to date for the work Designated March of a Petro - Angel (or Desert March), which sold at auction in September 2008 for USD 146,500.00 (€ 104,040.91).
Auktionsergebnis im Rahmen der Erwartungen
Diese Arbeit ohne Titel von Riyas Komu wurde im September 2008 in der Auktion South Asian Modern + Contemporary Art bei Christies in New York versteigert. Dabei wechselte sie für einen Preis von USD 37.500,00 (€ 26.631,63) den Besitzer und erzielte damit ein Ergebnis im oberen Bereich der Schätzpreisspanne von USD 30.000,00 – 40.000,00. Für andere Arbeiten von Riyas Komu mussten die Käufer allerdings auch schon deutlich tiefer in die Tasche greifen – das bisher höchste Auktionsergebnis haben wir für die Arbeit Designated March of a Petro - Angel (or Desert March) beobachtet, die im September 2008 für USD 146.500,00 (€ 104.040,91) versteigert wurde.
