In September 2020 Christies in New York held the auction Photographs, which included the work London, 1951 by Robert Frank. The result of USD 20,000.00 (€ 17,067.76) was exactly at the lower end of the estimate range of USD 20,000.00 – 30,000.00. Of course, this price has nothing to do with the top prices that other works by Robert Frank achieve. The highest price we have observed so far was reached by the work Trolley - New Orleans, 1955 in April 2013 with an auction result of USD 663,750.00 (€ 504,062.88).
Zuschlag beim unteren Schätzpreis
Im September 2020 führte Christies in New York die Auktion Photographs durch, in der auch die Arbeit London, 1951 von Robert Frank zur Versteigerung kam. Das dabei erzielte Ergebnis von USD 20.000,00 (€ 17.067,76) entsprach exakt dem unteren Ende der Schätzpreisspanne von USD 20.000,00 – 30.000,00. Dieser Preis hat freilich nichts mit den Spitzenpreisen zu tun, die andere Arbeiten von Robert Frank erzielen. Den höchsten von uns bisher beobachteten Preis erreichte die Arbeit Trolley - New Orleans, 1955 im April 2013 mit einem Auktionsergebnis von USD 663.750,00 (€ 504.062,88).
