Auction result well in line with expectations
The work Lisa Lyon with Gun, 1982 by Robert Mapplethorpe was auctioned at Christies in London in November 2010. The estimated price for the artwork was previously given by the auction house with a range of GBP 3,000.00 – 5,000.00, the actual price achieved of GBP 3,125.00 (€ 3,734.37) could thus just exceed the lower estimate. Of course, this price has nothing to do with the top prices that other works by Robert Mapplethorpe achieve. The highest price we have observed so far was reached by the work Self-Portrait in October 2017 with an auction result of GBP 548,750.00 (€ 625,682.41).
Auktionsergebnis im Rahmen der Erwartungen
Die Arbeit Lisa Lyon with Gun, 1982 von Robert Mapplethorpe kam im November 2010 bei Christies in London zur Auktion. Der Schätzpreis für das Kunstwerk wurde von dem Auktionshaus zuvor mit einer Spanne von GBP 3.000,00 – 5.000,00 angegeben, der tatsächlich erzielte Preis von GBP 3.125,00 (€ 3.734,37) konnte den unteren Schätzpreis somit knapp übertreffen. Dieser Preis hat freilich nichts mit den Spitzenpreisen zu tun, die andere Arbeiten von Robert Mapplethorpe erzielen. Den höchsten von uns bisher beobachteten Preis erreichte die Arbeit Self-Portrait im Oktober 2017 mit einem Auktionsergebnis von GBP 548.750,00 (€ 625.682,41).
