Auction result misses estimated price range
This work of art by Robert Weaver could be acquired at Christies in New York in December 2003 for an unexpectedly low price. In the PLAYBOY AT 50 auction, the work Illustration to Ian Fleming's On Her Majesty's Secret Service, Part 2 changed hands for USD 2,629.00 (€ 2,087.00) - missing the lower end of the estimate range of USD 3,000.00 – 4,000.00. However, buyers have had to dig much deeper into their pockets for other works by Robert Weaver - we have observed the highest auction result to date for the work Night Lights, which sold at auction in March 2020 for USD 7,500.00 (€ 6,800.25).

Dieses Kunstwerk von Robert Weaver konnte im Dezember 2003 bei Christies in New York für einen unerwartet niedrigen Preis ersteigert werden. In der Auktion PLAYBOY AT 50 wechselte die Arbeit Illustration to Ian Fleming's On Her Majesty's Secret Service, Part 2 für USD 2.629,00 (€ 2.087,00) den Besitzer – und verfehlte damit das untere Ende der Schätzpreisspanne von USD 3.000,00 – 4.000,00. Für andere Arbeiten von Robert Weaver mussten die Käufer allerdings auch schon deutlich tiefer in die Tasche greifen – das bisher höchste Auktionsergebnis haben wir für die Arbeit Night Lights beobachtet, die im März 2020 für USD 7.500,00 (€ 6.800,25) versteigert wurde.
