Auction result misses estimated price range
When the work East Village Beijing No. 19 by Rong Rong was auctioned at Sothebys in Hong Kong in April 2013, the result was somewhat disappointing. The auction house had previously given the estimated price as a range of HKD 75,000.00 – 100,000.00, of which not even the lower limit was reached - in fact, the artwork changed hands for HKD 60,000.00 (€ 5,873.33). Admittedly, works by Rong Rong have also been auctioned for a multiple of this price - according to our records, the highest result so far was achieved by the work Rong Rong'S East Village, 1993-1998 (Set Of Forty Prints) in October 2010 with an auction result of HKD 475,000.00 (€ 44,101.77).
Auktionsergebnis verfehlt die Schätzpreisspanne
Als die Arbeit East Village Beijing No. 19 von Rong Rong im April 2013 bei Sothebys in Hong Kong versteigert wurde, fiel das Ergebnis ein wenig enttäuschend aus. Das Auktionshaus hatte den Schätzpreis zuvor mit einer Spanne von HKD 75.000,00 – 100.000,00 angegeben, von der nicht einmal die Untergrenze erreicht wurde - tatsächlich wechselte das Kunstwerk für HKD 60.000,00 (€ 5.873,33) den Besitzer. Freilich wurden Arbeiten von Rong Rong auch schon für ein Vielfaches dieses Preises versteigert – das bisher höchste Ergebnis erzielte nach unseren Aufzeichnungen die Arbeit Rong Rong'S East Village, 1993-1998 (Set Of Forty Prints) im Oktober 2010 mit einem Auktionsergebnis von HKD 475.000,00 (€ 44.101,77).
