This artwork by Rowland Hilder achieved an unexpectedly high price at Christies in London in October 2007. In the Twentieth Century British Art auction, the work The Prospect of Whitby, Wapping sold for GBP 3,750.00 (€ 5,385.25) - well above the upper estimate of GBP 2,000.00. However, buyers have had to dig much deeper into their pockets for other works by Rowland Hilder - we have observed the highest auction result to date for the work Old Oast Houses at Chiddingstone, Kent, which sold at auction in June 2007 for GBP 8,400.00 (€ 12,465.18).

Dieses Kunstwerk von Rowland Hilder erzielte im Oktober 2007 bei Christies in London einen unerwartet hohen Preis. In der Auktion Twentieth Century British Art wurde die Arbeit The Prospect of Whitby, Wapping für GBP 3.750,00 (€ 5.385,25) versteigert – und damit weit über dem oberen Schätzpreis von GBP 2.000,00. Für andere Arbeiten von Rowland Hilder mussten die Käufer allerdings auch schon deutlich tiefer in die Tasche greifen – das bisher höchste Auktionsergebnis haben wir für die Arbeit Old Oast Houses at Chiddingstone, Kent beobachtet, die im Juni 2007 für GBP 8.400,00 (€ 12.465,18) versteigert wurde.
