A top price for Roy Lichtenstein - as previously expected
The work Nurse by Roy Lichtenstein was auctioned at Christies in New York in November 2015. The price achieved of USD 95,365,000.00 (€ 90,290,664.65) was within expectations - the estimate range had previously been set by the auction house as USD 83,000,000.00 – 120,000,000.00. Even if this result could not surprise positively, Nurse is the most expensive artwork by Roy Lichtenstein that we have observed at auctions so far.

Die Arbeit Nurse von Roy Lichtenstein kam im November 2015 bei Christies in New York zur Auktion. Der dabei erzielte Preis von USD 95.365.000,00 (€ 90.290.664,65) lag im Rahmen der Erwartungen – die Schätzpreisspanne war von dem Auktionshaus zuvor mit USD 83.000.000,00 – 120.000.000,00 angegeben worden. Auch wenn das Ergebnis damit nicht positiv überraschen konnte, ist Nurse das teuerste Kunstwerk von Roy Lichtenstein, das wir bisher bei Auktionen beobachtet haben.
