A top price for Salvo
When the work Il Mattino (The Morning) by Salvo was auctioned at Christies in Hong Kong in November this year, the result exceeded expectations many times over. The upper estimate was set at a - in retrospect quite modest - HKD 2,800,000.00 but the actual price achieved was more than three times as high at HKD 8,694,000.00 (€ 1,020,198.02). This high result makes Il Mattino (The Morning) the most expensive artwork by Salvo that we have observed at auctions so far.
Ein Spitzenpreis für Salvo
Als die Arbeit Il Mattino (The Morning) von Salvo im November diesen Jahres bei Christies in Hong Kong versteigert wurde, übertraf das Ergebnis die Erwartungen um ein Vielfaches. Der obere Schätzpreis war mit – rückwirkend betrachtet recht bescheidenen – HKD 2.800.000,00 angesetzt, der tatsächlich erzielte Preis hingegen war mit HKD 8.694.000,00 (€ 1.020.198,02) mehr als dreimal so hoch. Dieses hohe Ergebnis macht Il Mattino (The Morning) zu dem teuersten Kunstwerk von Salvo, das wir bisher bei Auktionen beobachtet haben.
