A top price for Sanyu - as previously expected
The work Five Nudes by Sanyu was sold in the 20th Century & Contemporary Art Evening Sale auction at Christies in Hong Kong in November 2019. The estimated price for the artwork was previously given by the auction house with a range of HKD 250,000,000.00 – 550,000,000.00, the actual price achieved of HKD 303,985,000.00 (€ 35,256,632.18) could thus just exceed the lower estimate. Even if this result could not surprise positively, Five Nudes is the most expensive artwork by Sanyu that we have observed at auctions so far.
Ein Spitzenpreis mit Ansage
Die Arbeit Five Nudes von Sanyu wurde im November 2019 in der Auktion 20th Century & Contemporary Art Evening Sale bei Christies in Hong Kong versteigert. Der Schätzpreis für das Kunstwerk wurde von dem Auktionshaus zuvor mit einer Spanne von HKD 250.000.000,00 – 550.000.000,00 angegeben, der tatsächlich erzielte Preis von HKD 303.985.000,00 (€ 35.256.632,18) konnte den unteren Schätzpreis somit knapp übertreffen. Auch wenn das Ergebnis damit nicht positiv überraschen konnte, ist Five Nudes das teuerste Kunstwerk von Sanyu, das wir bisher bei Auktionen beobachtet haben.
