Auction result misses estimated price range
When the work The Veteran by Sergei Borisov was auctioned at Sothebys in London in June 2013, the result was somewhat disappointing. The auction house had previously given the estimated price as a range of GBP 1,500.00 – 2,000.00, of which not even the lower limit was reached - in fact, the artwork changed hands for GBP 1,375.00 (€ 1,604.87). Admittedly, works by Sergei Borisov have also been auctioned for a multiple of this price - according to our records, the highest result so far was achieved by the work A Group Of Four Black And White Photographs Including The Kiss; The Touch And The Misses Of Immature Thought in March 2008 with an auction result of GBP 8,125.00 (€ 10,207.02).
Auktionsergebnis verfehlt die Schätzpreisspanne
Als die Arbeit The Veteran von Sergei Borisov im Juni 2013 bei Sothebys in London versteigert wurde, fiel das Ergebnis ein wenig enttäuschend aus. Das Auktionshaus hatte den Schätzpreis zuvor mit einer Spanne von GBP 1.500,00 – 2.000,00 angegeben, von der nicht einmal die Untergrenze erreicht wurde - tatsächlich wechselte das Kunstwerk für GBP 1.375,00 (€ 1.604,87) den Besitzer. Freilich wurden Arbeiten von Sergei Borisov auch schon für ein Vielfaches dieses Preises versteigert – das bisher höchste Ergebnis erzielte nach unseren Aufzeichnungen die Arbeit A Group Of Four Black And White Photographs Including The Kiss; The Touch And The Misses Of Immature Thought im März 2008 mit einem Auktionsergebnis von GBP 8.125,00 (€ 10.207,02).
