The »bidding war« ended at USD 22,500.00 (€ 15,823.90), 50% above the upper estimate. Admittedly, works by Sergei Soudeikine have also been auctioned for a multiple of this price - according to our records, the highest result so far was achieved by the work Russian Oriental Scene, Circa 1923 in April 2008 with an auction result of USD 241,000.00 (€ 154,804.73).

Die Arbeit Set Design For The Ballet Nutcracker von Sergei Soudeikine wurde im September 2007 in der Auktion Impressionist and Modern Art bei Sothebys in New York versteigert. Das »Bietergefecht« endete beim Preis von USD 22.500,00 (€ 15.823,90) und damit 50% über dem oberen Schätzpreis. Freilich wurden Arbeiten von Sergei Soudeikine auch schon für ein Vielfaches dieses Preises versteigert – das bisher höchste Ergebnis erzielte nach unseren Aufzeichnungen die Arbeit Russian Oriental Scene, Circa 1923 im April 2008 mit einem Auktionsergebnis von USD 241.000,00 (€ 154.804,73).
