Upper estimate price exceeded by more than 100%
This artwork by Shara Hughes achieved an unexpectedly high price at Sothebys in Hong Kong in April last year. In the Contemporary Evening Auction auction, the work Tipsy sold for HKD 10,055,000.00 (€ 1,215,722.69) - well above the upper estimate of HKD 3,500,000.00. However, buyers have had to dig much deeper into their pockets for other works by Shara Hughes - we have observed the highest auction result to date for the work Spins from Swiss, which sold at auction in May last year for USD 2,940,000.00 (€ 2,739,726.03).
Oberer Schätzpreis um mehr als 100% übertroffen
Dieses Kunstwerk von Shara Hughes erzielte im April letzten Jahres bei Sothebys in Hong Kong einen unerwartet hohen Preis. In der Auktion Contemporary Evening Auction wurde die Arbeit Tipsy für HKD 10.055.000,00 (€ 1.215.722,69) versteigert – und damit weit über dem oberen Schätzpreis von HKD 3.500.000,00. Für andere Arbeiten von Shara Hughes mussten die Käufer allerdings auch schon deutlich tiefer in die Tasche greifen – das bisher höchste Auktionsergebnis haben wir für die Arbeit Spins from Swiss beobachtet, die im Mai letzten Jahres für USD 2.940.000,00 (€ 2.739.726,03) versteigert wurde.
