In October this year Christies in London held the auction LOVE STORIES - from the collection of Anne & Wolfgang Titze, which included the work Lega Mask by Sherrie Levine. The »bidding war« ended at EUR 189,000.00 58% above the upper estimate. Admittedly, works by Sherrie Levine have also been auctioned for a multiple of this price - according to our records, the highest result so far was achieved by the work Fountain (After Marcel Duchamp) in May 2012 with an auction result of USD 962,500.00 (€ 778,469.75).
Oberer Schätzpreis um 58 % übertroffen
Im Oktober diesen Jahres führte Christies in London die Auktion LOVE STORIES - from the collection of Anne & Wolfgang Titze durch, in der auch die Arbeit Lega Mask von Sherrie Levine zur Versteigerung kam. Das »Bietergefecht« endete beim Preis von EUR 189.000,00 und damit 58% über dem oberen Schätzpreis. Freilich wurden Arbeiten von Sherrie Levine auch schon für ein Vielfaches dieses Preises versteigert – das bisher höchste Ergebnis erzielte nach unseren Aufzeichnungen die Arbeit Fountain (After Marcel Duchamp) im Mai 2012 mit einem Auktionsergebnis von USD 962.500,00 (€ 778.469,75).
