This artwork by Sherrie Levine achieved an unexpectedly high price at Christies in New York in May last year. In the The Collection of Thomas and Doris Ammann Evening Sale auction, the work Untitled (Two Inch Stripes) #1 sold for USD 107,100.00 (€ 99,804.31) - well above the upper estimate of USD 60,000.00. Admittedly, works by Sherrie Levine have also been auctioned for a multiple of this price - according to our records, the highest result so far was achieved by the work Fountain (After Marcel Duchamp) in May 2012 with an auction result of USD 962,500.00 (€ 778,469.75).

Freilich wurden Arbeiten von Sherrie Levine auch schon für ein Vielfaches dieses Preises versteigert – das bisher höchste Ergebnis erzielte nach unseren Aufzeichnungen die Arbeit Fountain (After Marcel Duchamp) im Mai 2012 mit einem Auktionsergebnis von USD 962.500,00 (€ 778.469,75).
